The box and whiskers are calculated by determining the first quartile (Q1 or 25th percentile), the median, and the third quartile (Q3 or 75th percentile) of the data, and then defining the "whiskers" as the minimum and maximum data values within 1.5 times the interquartile range (IQR) from Q1 and Q3, respectively.
